Exporting payroll-ready timesheets
Close a pay period in CleanLog, review flagged entries, and export a payroll-ready timesheet for your payroll provider without spreadsheet cleanup.
Updated
At the end of a pay period, review the worked hours, then export a payroll-ready timesheet. The export is built from approved time entries and any configured payroll fields. Review comes first, so you are not fixing a spreadsheet at midnight.
How do I export a pay period?
- Open Time and payroll and select the pay period.
- Review the flagged entries (missed clock-outs, edits, anything that needs a look). Resolve them first, see reviewing and approving timesheets.
- Choose Export. CleanLog generates the timesheet from the reviewed hours and configured export fields.
- Upload that file to your payroll provider.
Export only after the period is reviewed. The export reflects the data at that moment, so resolve flags first.
What does “payroll-ready” mean?
It means the file is ready to hand to payroll after manager review. It should contain verified clock-ins and clock-outs, cleared flags, and any payroll columns your account is configured to export. The point is that export is the last step, not the start of cleanup.
Does CleanLog run payroll or file taxes?
No. CleanLog gives you a reviewed timesheet to send to your payroll provider. It does not run payroll, pay cleaners, or file taxes. You keep your existing payroll provider; CleanLog removes the spreadsheet cleanup in front of it.
What if a timesheet has an error?
Fix it before you export. Open the entry, correct the time, and the change is logged on the record. Then re-export. Because the export reads live data, a correction flows through without re-keying anything. See reviewing and approving timesheets for the full review pass.
Where to go next
Make sure time is captured cleanly in the first place with clocking in and out.
